What Is The Best Way To Open A Bottle Of Champagne?

Champagne Bottle and Cork Always serve champagne cold, but never put it in the freezer, not even to chill quickly - it will only spoil the flavour. Either store it in the fridge or in ice. It is best served at 7șC.

When holding the bottle and preparing to open it the trick is to not take your thumb from the top of the champagne bottle cork.

Champagne
Undo the foil wrapping and untwist the wire cage.

Still holding the cork firmly, gently twist the bottle. Make sure the cork does not twist with the bottle motion.

The pressure from the champagne bubbles should ease the cork out. If not gently loosen it whilst still holding the cork.

This method should prevent the cork flying round the room and should prevent any champagne spilling out.

Serve in champagne flutes glasses - any other glass, especially wide rimmed ones, will make you loose the bubbles along with the fizz.
