Ingredients For Mincemeat Tart
70g of suet
425g of sweet pastry
180g of soft brown sugar
640g of mixed dried fruit
100g of dried cranberries
100g of glace cherries
40g of chopped blanched almonds
One chopped dessert apple
The grated rind of half a lemon and a whole orange
120mls of alcohol such as whisky, sherry or brandy
Half a teaspoon of nutmeg
Half a teaspoon of cinnamon
In a large bowl mix the fruits, rind spices, suet and sugar together and then drizzle the alcohol over the
mincemeat mixture. Place in the fridge for about two days so that the fruit soaks up the alcohol.
Line a flan tin with the pastry and bake at gas mark 4 or 180C in a pre heated oven for 15 minutes.
The article continues below, but in the meantime why not
Remove the flan tin from the oven and add the mincemeat mixture.
Bake for 20 more minutes.
