Instructions To Make Meringue Snowmen

Grease a baking tray and then line it with grease proof paper.

Pre heat an oven to gas mark 1 or 140C.

Crack the eggs and separate the white from the yolk.

The article continues below, but in the meantime why not

Whisk the egg whites until they start to become stiff.

Add half of the caster sugar and whisk. Once combined add the remaining caster sugar and whisk once more.

Spoon out some of the mixture onto the baking tray so that they form five heaps for each snowman body. Using a smaller spoon, or a teaspoon, spoon out a smaller portion beside each body so that these will form the heads.

Place the tray in the oven and bake for one hour. The snowmen should now be lovely and crisp.

Remove the tray from the oven and set aside to cool down.

Keep 10 chocolate drops to make the snowmen's eyes and melt the remainder.

Using the heated chocolate, attach each head to each body and then add the eyes. The remaining chocolate can be used to paint a smile on each snowman.

The tartan ribbon can be tied around the necks of the snowmen to make scarves. Use the excess chocolate to hold each scarf in place.

Put on a plate or serving surface and dust with icing sugar to give the impression of freshly laid snow.
