Hungarian Goulash Recipe
Ingredients For Hungarian Goulash
450g of cubed braising steak
300mls of beef stock
One sliced onion
One sliced red pepper
2 tablespoons of oil
1 tablespoon of plain flour
2 tablespoons of tomato puree
1 clove of garlic or 0.5 teaspoons of garlic granules
50mls of sour cream
Salt and pepper

Preheat the oven to 180 C or gas mark 4.

In a large frying pan or in an oven proof casserole dish add the oil, heat it up on the hob and brown the sliced onion and
the cubed braising steak.
Add the flour, garlic and paprika and cook for another minute.
Blend in the stock, tomato puree and bring to the boil, stirring continuously.
Add the sliced red pepper and season with salt and pepper
Pour into an oven proof casserole dish, or if already in one then cover and cook in the oven until the beef is
lovely and tender. This usually takes 1.5 - 2 hours.
Remove from the oven once cooked and stir in the sour cream.
