Though you can now buy chopping boards that can be placed in a dishwasher there are still many who like to use
traditional wooden chopping boards or have boards that cannot safely be put into a dishwasher. Follow the advice below
to disinfect chopping boards.
Mix a teaspoon of bleach into one litre of water.
With a scrubbing brush or cloth put the solution onto the chopping board straight on to the cutting surface.
Ensure all surfaces are covered with the solution.
Do not rinse off the solution or dry with a cloth. Instead allow the chopping board and the bleach solution to dry
out naturally.
If you need to use the chopping board sooner then pat dry after at least one minute with kitchen paper towels.
