How To Make Chocolate Gingerbread
Easy to bake recipe for chocolate gingerbread with a list of ingredients and step by step baking instructions:
Ingredients for Chocolate Gingerbread
200g of brown sugar
4 eggs
50g of plain chocolate
225g of plain flour
25g of cocoa powder
75g of unsalted butter
4 tablespoons of yoghurt
2 teaspoons of baking powder
3 teaspoons of ground ginger
Half teaspoon of ground cinnamon
Quarter of teaspoon of mixed spice and grated nutmeg
Pinch of salt and pepper
How To Bake Chocolate Gingerbread
Preheat the oven to gas mark 4, 180C or 350F.
Grease a 23 cm (9 inch) square tin.

Whisk the sugar and the eggs thoroughly.
In a saucepan melt the chocolate and butter. Once melted add the yoghurt and stir.
Stir in the egg and sugar mixture.
Sift the dry ingredients, ie the flour, cocoa, baking powder and spices.
Add the pinch of salt and pepper.
Fold into the chocolate mix.
Pour the mixture into the greased baking tin and bake for about 45 minutes.
Remove from the oven and set aside, still in the tin, for about 15 minutes.
Turn out onto a cake cooling rack and allow to cool before eating or storing.
