Easy to make recipe for chocolate black forest brownie using black cherries. Will make about 24 individual cake pieces:
Ingredients For Black Forest Brownies
225g of plain chocolate
100g of plain chocolate chips or roughly chopped from a chocolate block
465g can or jar of black cherries
125g unsalted butter which has been diced
3 tablespoons of double cream
3 large eggs
160g of plain flour
225g of caster sugar
Icing sugar to dust the baked brownies
Optional Ingredients: 2 tablespoons of Kirsch syrup from a jar of preserved cherries
How To Make Black Forest Brownies
Preheat the oven to gas mark 4, 180C or 350F.
Grease and line a brownie tin of about 25cm square size

Break up the 225g of chocolate into a heatproof bowl. Add the diced butter and the double cream. Place this bowl over the boiling water and stir the ingredients
together as they melt. Then set aside to cool down.
Break the eggs into another bowl and whisk until they get frothy.
Add the sugar and the Kirsch if you are using this optional ingredient.
Whisk until the mixture thickens and becomes mousse like in appearance.
Now whisk in the chocolate, butter and cream mixture.
Sift in the flour and stir.
Now add the chocolate chips or chopped chocolate pieces.
Pour the mixture into the prepared brownie tin and spread it around so that it is even.
Add the cherry pieces from the jar or can evenly around the mixture.
Bake for about 35 minutes.
Remove the tin from the oven and set aside to cool.
Once the tin and contents have cooled down remove from the tin and cut into about 24 pieces.
